The Dragon from Russia 1990

Trouble arises immediately as unknown fighters duke it out in the opening sequence. We eventually learn that
these are two rival leaders, 'Master of Death' and Kishudo, of underground criminal organizations devoted to
training assassins and sending them to kill each other. The narrative jumps over to Russia where Master of
Death's exiled student (Dean Shek Tin) is hiding out with one of his own students, Yao Lung (Sam Hui). Yao is an
orphan who shares a love with May Yip (Maggie Cheung) and all seems well until Master catches up with them
and decides to kidnap, brainwash, and train Yao to be his secret weapon to kill his arch rival.

The Dead and the Deadly 1983

Honest Gee, a young man, works for his uncle who is the town's high priest. One day, they are at the ancestral shrine of the Mas working
wonders. The last of the rich Mas is coming home dead. Accompanying the body is a pregnant woman claiming to be his wife. Gee knows
his boyhood friend Ma could not be a husband because he is impotent. Actually, Ma just pretends to be dead in order to steal the family's
funeral treasure. When nothing is found, except a promise that his son would inherit a fortune, he is killed by his cohort. Ma's spirit uses
Gee to kill the cohort and Gee's spirit is separated from his body. His fiancee and uncle arrange a weird wedding to reunite Gee's body
with his soul.

After years of wandering the countryside, Sam the Seed returns home only to discover that his wife has adopted a son in his absence.
After an earlier misunderstanding, Sam takes an instant dislike to Foggy, the son, and teases him mentally and physically. Foggy can stand
no more and deeply upset, he runs away. While working at a restaurant, Foggy overhears a plan to kill Sam the Seed by the fearsome
Rubberlegs who intends on being the supreme Drunk Mantis Boxing Champion. Although he rushes home to prevent it, Foggy is unable to
stop his adopted father from being seriously injured, but the two do manage to escape. During frequent visits to a peculiar kung fu fighting
doctor (who sleeps in a coffin!) to obtain medicine, Foggy learns a new form of kung-fu. Now armed with this 'Sickness Boxing', Foggy awaits
the final battle with Rubberlegs.

The Victim 1980

Sammo plays Chan Wing, a young man looking for a master to teach him kung fu. He meets Lung Chung Yao (Leung Kar Yan), a kung fu
expert and tries in vain to get him to be his master. But Lung wants nothing to do with the well-meaning, yet stubborn man. After a series
of humorous encounters where Lung attempts to shake off this persistent and portly fellow, Lung's former martial brothers come looking
for him and they're not happy. Chan Wing gets Lung's wife to explain that the two eloped after their kung fu master's son attempted
to rape the girl. When word arrives that the master has fallen ill, the two return to the school. The master dies and the son, who is played
by Chang Yi forces the girl into choosing him as her companion after Lung is nearly beaten to death. Sadly, the girl ends her life out of
despair and Lung's already rocky relationship with Chan Wing takes a dramatic turn for the worse. Will justice still be served? You'll have
to watch it for yourself to find out.

Oily Maniac 1976

Moments before his uncle is taken to be executed, Shen Yuan (Li Hsiu-hsien) writes down the cryptic words tattooed on the man's back
...they are an invocation of some sort. Himself a crippled plantation manager, Yuan cannot win the attention of the girl next door whom
he fancies, nor can he stem the abuses of his unpleasant boss. One day, pushed beyond his limits, Yuan remembers his uncle's invocation
and utters it. He is immediately transformed into the Oily Maniac, an avenger of wrongs and hot-tempered foe of evil.

The Iceman Cometh 1989

Yuen Biao plays Ah Ching, a Ming Dynasty royal guard along with Yuen Wah, the frigid rapist-killer he's tracking who are frozen
and thawed out in modern-day Hong Kong in this classic.


In a ruthless period during the Ming Dynasty, a princess is brutally raped and murdered by the psychotic Fung San (Wah).
When the Emperor finds out he blames his guardsman Ah Ching (Yuen Biao) for failing in his duty and offers him one last
chance to redeem himself by bringing this rogue to justice. San has other plans and steals the mystical Jade Buddha that,
when used at the correct time, can grant the user the gift of a hundred lifetimes. Unable to let him escape, Ching is drawn in
by the bizarre Buddha's powers and the two ancient swordsman are transported forward to present day Hong Kong.
Confused by modern society, Ching is tricked into becoming a butler for a prostitute (Maggie Cheung) whilst San adapts
to a new life of crime perfectly, utilising his sadistic attitude to great effect. Will our hero be able to redeem himself and
punish San or is he condemned to a life of servitude?

Peking Opera Blues 1986

The year is 1913 and China is experiencing an uneasy peace two years after the First Democratic Revolution.
But unworthy generals controlling the country are auctioning it to foreign bidders. These turbulent events throw together
three very different women. Tsao Wan (Brigitte Lin) is the daughter of the current ruling General (Kenneth Tsang), and is
plotting with the revolutionary Ling Pak-Hoi (Mark Cheng) to steal a secret contract from her father that allows foreign
powers the rights to the country. Sheung Hung (Cherie Chung) is a street-smart hustler, helping Tsao with the promise
of great riches, and Pat Nell (Sally Yeh) is the daughter of the owner of the local opera house, who dreams of treading the
boards but is restrained by chauvinistic convention that disallows women to act on stage. While General Tsao clandestinely
barters with the West, ruthless “Ticketing Officers,” a vicious police force with looks and manner more akin to Triads, enforce local
law and pose the greatest threat to the revolution.

Dreadnaught 1981

White Tiger (Shun Yi) and his sick wife are both wanted by the law for their various crimes. A seemingly innocuous stop at a restaurant
turns into an all-out ambush on White Tiger and spouse with the waiters revealed to be law enforcers. After a savage battle, White Tiger
emerges, but his wife is killed in the onslaught; this naturally does no favours to his already precarious mental health. Now driven insane,
White Tiger travels to the home of an ex-cohort (Kao Fei) who now runs a kung-fu school in opposition to local hero Wong Fei Hung.
The focus now switches to the timid yet charming laundry boy Mousy (Biao) who is the butt of the town's jokes and the victim of bullying
from all quarters. Luckily he has good friend Fu to rely on and there's certainly no messing with Fu - he's Wong Fei Hung's senior student.
A series of events brings Mousy into direct conflict with White Tiger, but all he can do is run in sheer terror of his foe. However, unbeknownst
to Mousy, his sister has been training him in Eagle's Claw without him ever knowing it. It is these very skills that are needed when, through
a series of tragic circumstances, Mousy must confront the dreaded villain without the usual help from Fu or Wong Fei Hung.

Look out, Officer! 1990

When Police Officer Piao (Bill Tung) begins investigating an underground drug smuggling ring, he puts his nose where it isn't required and
winds up getting himself killed. His death is then staged to look like a suicide so when he arrives in heaven Piao is naturally restless and
demands retribution. His requests are granted and he is give the power to haunt Hsing (Stephen Chow), a rookie cop who he must communicate
with to help solve his murder. However, Hsing will only agree if he gets something in return so Piao offers to help him get a girlfriend and a promotion for his troubles. With Piao's old partner (Fong) completing the line-up, the three set out to bring the criminals to justice with the help of a little supernatural wizardry.

Flying Dagger 1993

Tony Leung is Big Dagger, a bounty hunter who, with his brother Little Dagger, is hired by an evil warlord to capture the outlaw
Fox 'O' Nine Tails (Jackie Cheung). The brothers have competition in the form of two witches (Cheung Man and Gloria Yip) who are
also after the reward money but after the Fox proves to be quite elusive the two sides team up. Further complications come though
when the Fox's wife, Flying Cat (Maggie Cheung), comes to rescue her husband. Added to all this are acid spraying Japanese swordsmen,
kung fu masters who can't be killed, a severed hand with a life of it's own, eunuchs and gender bending villains.

The South Shaolin Master 1984

Lin Hai Nan (Chiu Jian Guo), a revolutionary fighting against the reigning Ching Dynasty arrives at a Buddhist temple to deliver
a large sum of money. It turns out to be a trap set by the local Ching official who has his mind set on that cash. The money ends
up in the hands of a crazy monk who runs off while Lin, who is wounded hides out at the local pier. Meanwhile, the same official
attempts to bully a visiting Chinese opera troupe into performing exclusively for him. But after finding Lin, they skip town in their
red junk. Having recovered from his wounds, Lin sends the official and his men running after the troupe has fallen into an ambush.
Lin's considered a hero by all the troupe members except for the troupe's trainer who witnesses the woman he loves flirting with
Lin. At their next stop, the trainer informs local officials about Lin and Ching forces surround the troupe as they perform for a
massive crowd. Hearing of this, the troupe members stage a bloody fight that puts the crowd into a panic, allowing them to slip
through the official's grasp. Unfortunately, the remaining members of the troupe and their children in the junk are not so lucky.
With their boat destroyed, Lin and the rest of the troupe make their way on foot to another Buddhist temple where its discovered
that the missing money has turned up in the proper hands. Awed by the monks' abilities, Lin and the troupe train furiously in order
to get revenge. Having entered a rowing competition run by the official, the troupe attacks the guards while Lin chases down the official.

Sammo is Courageous Cheung, a pedicab driver in a rural community who is known around town as the man who fears nothing. Well,
this is proven false before the opening credits finish when he endures a particularly frightening nightmare of flesh-eating zombies.
But, that's just the beginning of his run-ins with the supernatural. His friends decide to pull a scary prank on him that results in a
ghastly ghost joining in on the fun. The plot finally kicks in when Cheung comes home early one day to find his wife in bed with another
man. It turns out to be Master Tam, a prominent citizen who is also a regular client of Cheung. He escapes before Cheung can identify
him and decides Cheung must die to keep this activity a secret. Tam hires a greedy master of witchcraft named Chin Hoi (Peter Chan)
to kill Cheung without arising suspicions. Chin Hoi's accomplice (Wu Ma) bets Cheung to stay locked in a broken down temple for one
night where a corpse resides. With advice from Lau (Chang Ti Chiang), Chin Hoi's brother, Cheung survives two fierce nights in the temple.
Later, a plot by Master Tam to frame Cheung for murder fails to succeed after he escapes by hiding out in a funeral home. Even an attempt
to take control of Cheung's body using voodoo is foiled by Lau. Finally, both Master Tam and Cheung become pawns in a vicious battle of the sorcerers as the two brothers square off in a final, fiery confrontation.

The Kung Fu Cult Master 1993

Set in ancient China, the story is told against a backdrop of warring clans. Jet Li plays Mo-kei, a young man caught in
the middle of the troubles seeking revenge for the death of his parents at the hands of two clan leaders. Mo-kei himself
was seriously injured in his youth by the same clan leaders which has left him unable to learn martial arts. When forced
to leave the protective confines of the Wu Tang's headquarters Mo-kei meets a strange monk, embedded in a boulder,
who teaches him kung fu. From this point he becomes virtually unbeatable and takes on the clans in numerous battles.

Broken Oath 1977

The story follows Lady Snowblood closely starting out and broadens into more familiar kung fu territory as it progresses. A female lays
dying in a woman's prison after giving birth and recounts to a pickpocket how she ended up there after her husband was murdered by
thugs, one of whom also raped her. The pickpocket agrees to raise her daughter to seek revenge, but in hopes of breaking the cycle of
violence she hands the infant girl over to a Shaolin monastery for women. 'Pure Lotus' Liu (Angela Mao) grows up to be a troubled young
woman who skips out on Buddhist lessons, but excels at kung fu. She's kicked out after killing several thugs and rejoins the pickpocket
where she discovers the truth about her parents. Using her kung fu and deadly scorpions, Lotus begins a systematic hunt for each of the
men who assaulted her family and ends up joining forces with government agents to uproot rebels, two of whom are her targets.

Forbidden City Cop 1996


As the last remaining ‘Forbidden City Cop,’ Ling-fat (Stephen Chow) is called upon by the Emperor to investigate
the arrival of a famous prostitute on his behalf. Fat’s devotion to both his wife (Carina Lau) and the Emperor is put

Warriors Two 1978


Leung Kar-yan gives the best performance of his career as the elder Mr. Tsang, a doctor and master of Wing Chun,
whose martial lineage traces back to the style's founder. He is grudgingly persuaded by Fei Chun (Sammo Hung),
his lead student to teach kung fu to Cashier Hua (Casanova Wong), a patient hiding out at his residence. Hua had
previously overheard a businessman named Mo (Fung Hak-on) and several of his men plotting to take over the town
by killing the town's headman. Unfortunately, Hua made the mistake of warning Mo's wormy henchman and a trap was
set that nearly cost the poor cashier his life. While in hiding, Hua sends Fei Chun to warn the headman. The headman
ignores the advice and is later attacked by Mo's men, although its unclear whether he escapes or is killed after a protracted fight.

Meanwhile, Tsang runs Hua through an elaborate and entertaining series of Wing Chun training sessions before he falls
victim to a vicious trap set by Mo who has learned of Hua's whereabouts. With nothing left to lose, Hua, Fei Chun, and
another student split up to use specific Wing Chun styles against Mo's leading fighters. Trouble mounts when it is discovered
that Fei mixed up the fighter's names and each of Tsang's students have to improvise in order to win against their opponents.

most incompetent reject: a rural butcher who stands around all day drinking martinis (shaken, not stirred). With a

skull and find out just what is going on here.

Wing Chun 1994


A bully force to marry Wing Chun since she was pretty, however Wing refuses and beats down the bully by her supreme Kung Fu.
Wing saved a beautiful widow, Charmy, from bandits Wing's Aunt Fong dressed Charmy and named her Miss Soya bean to attract
customer to her Soya Bean Store. At this moment Bandit Monkey breaks in the store to catch Chamy. In order to save Charmy.
Wing challenged Monkey and castrated him. The bandit, Chimpanzee led bandits to get revenge, then Wing and her fiancee Leung
fight with Chimpanzee.

Ninja in the Dragon's Den 1982



In this film Conan Lee plays Ah Ching, a smug martial artist who comes to his master's defense after the old man,
named Uncle Foo is attacked by a ninja. The ninja is Jen Moo (Hiroyuki Sanada), a rogue assassin who has traveled
to China with his wife to kill Foo who turns out to be a retired ninja master. Other members of the same ninja clan
follow Jen to China and vainly attempt to kill him. Ashamed of his own cowardice in escaping to China years before,
Foo poisons himself and makes peace with Jen which leads to a misunderstanding between Ah Ching and Jen.
The two battle each other to the top of a pagoda and finally settle their differences just in time to face a spiritual boxer played
by Hwang Jang Lee.

The Prodigal Son 1982






Yuen Biao plays Leung Chang, the son of a wealthy business man who dreams of being a great martial artist.
But fearing for his safety, his parents pay off his opponents to lose so that Chang is not injured. When a Chinese
opera troupe comes to town, Chang is beaten by one of its members and vows to learn real kung fu. After the
troupe is virtually wiped out by Manchu officials, Chang and his teacher, Leung Yee-tai seek refuge with Yee-tai's
old companion, Wong Wa-po (Sammo Hung). Chang begins training in Wing Chun kung fu under the tutelage of
both men until Yee-tai becomes ill. Chang returns home with his master where his family can care for him but runs
into the Manchu officials. Yee-tai is killed and Chang has a final showdown with the Manchu leader.

Duel to the Death 1977




Damian Liu portrays a morally infused fighter (Bo Ching Wan) who would rather fight a friendly match than hurt
an opponent. Hashimoto (Norman Chu) on the other hand is a disillusioned, yet honorable Japanese fighter who
will die for his country. Both have been chosen to represent their respective countries in a challenge to prove which
of their countries has the superior martial arts. Bo comes from a background in Buddhist teachings and has studied
Chinese martial arts for many years; the more traditional character. Hashimoto on the other hands comes from a
Japanese school that teaches their students to win at all costs and that failure is awarded only with death.

Vampire Hunters (2002)
AKA: The Era of the Vampires


Gai Chun-wa plays Mao Shan, master of an organization of vampire hunters who face off against a particularly nasty vamp
abeled the 'Vampire King.' Using chains and a Taoist sword, their attempts to subdue it set off a methane explosion that
allows the creature to escape. Three months later, Mao Shan's four lead students named Thunder, Wind, Rain, and Lightning
trace the vampire to the site of a dreary wedding ceremony at the home of Master Jiang (Yu Rong-guang), a creepy fellow who
likes to preserve dead bodies as wax statues. Unable to locate the monster with their Taoist compass, the four find employment
with Jiang and soon discover another problem. A vicious martial arts master is out to get his hands on the Jiang family treasure
and sends Sasa, his sister to marry Jiang's son. Not surprisingly, Jiang's son dies soon after and Sasa is left in a sprawling,
rundown home while her brother hires a 'Zombie Wrangler' (Chen Kuan-tai) to wake Jiang's wax-covered companions, thereby
creating a diversion while he grabs the gold. Enter a smitten Thunder who becomes Sasa's protector while his three companions
continue their search for the vampire. Following an undead stampede and the vampire's reappearance, the four heroes do battle
with a little help from their master.

Hand of Death (1976)
AKA: Strike of Death; Countdown in Kung Fu; Shaolin Men


Yun Fei, the greatest Shaolin fighter of the temple is sent by his teacher, Father Tan, to avenge their leader's death
and stop the killing of Shaolin warriors by killing Shih, the man responsible all the massacres. But Yun will need some
help to complete his task, because Shih has 8 extremely good body guards, all specialized with their own style of weapon
or fighting technique which will make it hard for Yun to defeat. On his way for his quest, Yun will meet Tan (Jackie Chan),
a young delivery boy who works for Shih and also Zorro, a nameless master swordsman who no longer wants to use his
sword after he accidentally killed the one he loved. The three will decide to unite to defeat Shih for their own personal reasons
but they will also have to face the general of Shih's (played by Sammo Hung).

A trio of petty crooks get their hands on a passport of a British agent, without their knowing a vital piece of microfilm
was hidden in the passport. A wealthy business man with criminal ties uses all the methods at his disposal to recover
the incriminating microfilm. Meanwhile two policewomen look into the murder of the British agent and try to find the thieves.

Sounds a bit boring, unless the Policewomen are Michelle Yeoh and Cythia Rothrock.
Together they beat the Crap out of their Opponents.

The Ironfisted Monk 1977 Sammo Hung



After his father is killed by Manchus who rule over Husker and his fellow Han, he joins Shaolin Temple where he learns kung fu
with the intention of getting revenge. He leaves and meets up with Shan Teh (Chan Sing), a famous monk whose exploits were
also portrayed by Gordon Liu in The 36th Chamber of Shaolin. Teh persuades the young man to teach kung fu to Han workers
at a dye factory. At about the same time, one of the dye workers named Liang (Lo Hoi Pang) discovers that his sister has been
raped by a Manchu. He rushes out and kills the wrong Manchu which draws the attention of the real rapist, a local Manchu official
(Fung Hak On) who suspects the dye factory is involved. The official hires two Northern kung fu experts and plots the destruction
of the dye factory. After a massacre leaves all of the workers dead, Husker and Teh storm into the official's home in search of justice
dealt at the end of their fists.
